What To Expect When You Visit Wasatch Church
When you visit, we want you to feel welcome, and to make sure you can find everything you need. Let's walk through what you'll experience and where to go when you come for a visit. The Lobby
As you enter the glass front doors, someone will greet you and offer you a flyer about the day's events.
To your right, down a hallway, you will see our Event Center. The people there will show you where to take your children, tell you about the morning's schedule, and answers your questions.
If you need to use a restroom, you have three choices. From the lobby, go down the hallway past the drinking fountain. Others are located in the hallways to your right and left as you face the Welcome Desk.
The Worship Gathering
Our Worship Center is to your right as you enter the front doors - right behind the Welcome Desk. The worship style is upbeat and contemporary - with guitars, bass, and drums. Most people dress casually. We're not trying to impress anyone, so come as you are.
On most Sundays, you will hear a message from the Bible that relates to the issues of our lives. There's a place to take notes in the flyer you received at the door.
Almost every Sunday, we practice a ritual called The Lord's Supper (or Communion). Small samples of bread and grape juice act as symbols of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for us. You don't have to be a member of Wasatch Church to participate. But if you're not a follower of Jesus Christ yet, we encourage you to just watch or meditate. (We don't want to ask you to falsely symbolize something that is not yet a reality in your life.)
Unlike many churches, we do not receive a public offering during worship. We encourage people to give as a deliberate decision between you and God, not because the basket is coming down the row. Giving is an act of worship, and if you choose to do so, you can place your gift in one of the offering boxes in the wall behind the Worship Center.
Caring Places for Children
Your children are welcome to come into the worship gathering with you. However, we also offer age-graded classes where your kids can learn and grow, while enjoying fun activities and making friends. These classes meet at both 9:30 and 11:00, so you can also visit one of our Communities along with worship. To create a safe place for our kids, we do background checks on all of our children's workers.
As you face the Welcome Desk, the nursery is down a long hall to your left, on the left side. Our loving nursery team provides comfort and security for children from newborn to 30 months.
Classes for 3 year olds through kindergarten are in the west wing, to your left and down the hall as you first enter the building. Children really have a good time in these classes!
Our elementary aged classes meet in two different places. During the 9:30 service, turn left as you approach the Welcome Desk. Go up the hall, and you'll find the elementary classrooms on your right. During the 11:00 service, we combine the elementary grades for different types of activities. Go upstairs to our Youth Room, on your left as you enter the front doors.
Our youth group (grades 7-12) meets at 9:30 a.m. Their room is upstairs. Look to your left as you enter through the main doors. The Youth typically attend worship at 11:00.
